Currency & Logistics
Nepal is mostly cash-based; ATMs are available in larger cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara, but cash is essential in smaller towns/villages and remote areas such as Mustang, so riders should withdraw or exchange enough cash for their private use before leaving the cities.

Shipping & Air Travel
Extra Tips: Check airline fees for transporting your bike. Many airlines treat bikes as oversized luggage and charge extra, so confirm fees before booking. Make sure your bike and riding are covered by insurance—standard travel insurance often doesn’t include sports equipment or mountain biking risks, so consider specialized MTB insurance in your home country for coverage against theft, damage, accidents, high-altitude riding, and adventure travel. Once you are in Nepal our logistics team will take care of the Transport.
Packing Your Bike
Before Packing: Remove front wheel and insert axle to protect forks Remove pedals Remove rear derailleur Remove stem but leave handlebars attached for easier reassembly For hydraulic brakes, place something between brake pads Deflate tires (required by airlines) Label your bike with your name and addresses Packing Options: Cardboard bike box – inexpensive but requires extra padding and time Hard-shell box – strong protection but bulky and heavy Evoc Bike Travel Bag – quick to pack and unpack, lightweight, easy to transport
